Honeyberry – Four plants - Save £6 £32.90

This recent introduction to the grow-at-home market is set to become a popular addition to British gardens. The honeyberry is actually Lonicera caerulea Karmtschtica, a honeysuckle which produces large, edible, elliptical berries similar in colour and flavour to the blueberry. Sweet enough to be eaten fresh, the berries can also be made into jam, jelly or even ice cream and any surplus fruits will retain their flavour and form when frozen.

Originating from Siberia, the honeyberry is extremely hardy and once established tolerant of extremely cold temperatures and dry conditions. The honeyberry, unlike the acid-loving blueberry, does not require a special soil type but prefers a free-draining location. With the minimum of fuss this compact (90x90cm/3x3ft) shrub will produce fruits as early as May onwards.

Two plants are required for pollination.

Buy two plants for just £18.95 inc p&p or perhaps try and plant you own edible hedgerow and buy four for £32.90 and save £6.
