Here’s a chance to grow a real piece of history as this mulberry tree is propagated from ‘budwood’ that was carefully taken from the original mulberry tree planted by James 1 in London’s Charlton Park.
The King wanted to emulate the Belgian silk industry but planted black mulberries which do not support silkworms! However the tree is fascinating with glossy leaves and a succulent purple fruit.
One plant supplied in a 4 ltr pot costs £39.95 inc. P&P
